We’re thrilled to share that our very own Denice Hicks has been named the 2025 Manager of the Year by the Georgia Self Storage Association (GASSA)! The award was presented at this year’s GA/SC Southeastern Self Storage Conference & Tradeshow in Atlanta — an event that recognizes outstanding leaders who set the standard for excellence across the self-storage industry.
From New Beginnings to Industry Excellence
Denice began her journey with Sauls Storage Group in November 2020. At the time, she was re-entering the workforce as a stay-at-home mother, stepping into storage management with no prior industry experience — but plenty of determination, curiosity, and heart.
Over the past five years, Denice has done far more than learn the ropes. She has helped lease up two unmanned facilities, now oversees operations and staff training at a manned property, and has become a trusted leader, mentor, and friend to everyone she works with.
Her approach to customer service is simple but powerful: treat every customer with patience, kindness, and understanding. Whether she’s helping an elderly tenant navigate a mobile app or resolving a stressful move-in situation, Denice brings calm, compassion, and confidence to every interaction.
